New flats to be built in city centre

New flats are set to be built in Wolverhampton city centre after a plan to convert a former factory and offices was approved.
The application to convert the former factory and YMCA offices in Temple Street into 14 apartments has been welcomed by city leaders.
An application to convert the building into nine flats was approved by the council last year but it will be extended by an extra floor to make way for more flats under the latest plans.
The building had been empty for several years, left to rot and fallen into a state of disrepair, according to an application.
The applicated added that the new flats would have a "positive impact" on the surrounding area.
The City of Wolverhampton Council said the "important" building would be brought back into use.
This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service which covers councils and other public service organisations.
