Police are appealing for witnesses after reports a man followed a woman home and then indecently exposed himself.

Humberside Police said the incident happened at about 00:35 GMT on Friday in the Clarence Avenue area of Bridlington.

After failing to gain entry to a property, the man exposed himself in the street, the force said.

Officers said the man was described as white and was wearing dark clothing.

Det Insp Andrew Crawforth said: ''The woman has understandably been left distressed and we are providing her with support, alongside partnering agencies.

"Understandably, this will be concerning for Bridlington residents, and I would like to reassure the community that we are treating this as a priority, and we will not tolerate any form of harm towards women and girls."

Appealing for information, he added that the force was reviewing CCTV footage, as well as conducting house-to-house inquiries.
