Police arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of assault

Police are "urgently" looking for a man they believed suffered "significant injuries" in an assault.

Cleveland Police were called to reports of an attack on Eversham Road in Grangetown, Redcar and Cleveland, at about 02:15 BST on Saturday.

Officers arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and affray, but they said the victim had left the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Officers need to ensure that he is safe and has received medical treatment."

The victim is described as in his 20s and wearing a white coat.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
