Flats evacuated after gas left on in premises

Flats and businesses were evacuated after gas was left on at a premises, a fire service said.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service were called to Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, at about 09:29 BST on Friday after a member of the public smelled gas.
Two crews from Chelmsford attended and found that gas had been left on in a business premises overnight.
John Warmann, station manager, said: "The incident is a reminder, whether you're a business or homeowner, to make sure you turn your gas appliances are off when you've finished using them."

The fire service said it isolated the gas and ventilated the building whilst at the scene.
"If you've got a gas boiler, open fire or log burner, make sure you have a carbon monoxide alarm," Mr Warmann added.
