Aurigny says it is monitoring the weather conditions

The Channel Islands face further disruption due to "thick fog" with both Jersey Airport and Guernsey Airport reporting low visibility.

Aurigny said it was monitoring the weather and it was still planning to operate flights in the afternoon, "where safe conditions permit".

The airline also said it was evaluating options for additional flights over the next few days.

Customers can make a free change to an alternative flight within the next seven days via the airline's website.

A spokesperson for Aurigny said: "In light of the persistent fog, our teams are working hard to keep our customers informed with the latest guidance and to complete flights where safe conditions allow."

The airline said the "difficult decision" to cancel a number of services allowed refunds for those affected, and gave customers "some time and added certainty to make alternative arrangements by ferry, where some space is currently available".

"Our team is also evaluating options for additional flights over the next few days and we have re-accommodated Alderney customers by sea this morning," said the airline.

The weather conditions caused Guernsey Football Club's Boxing Day clash with Kingstonian to be postponed as the squad was unable to travel.
