Officer in court after police anti-corruption probe
A police officer and former police officer have appeared in court following an investigation by Police Scotland's anti-corruption unit.
Christopher Dougherty, 43, from Stirling, faced a charge under the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act when he appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Former police officer, David Smith, 45 from Motherwell, faces multiple charges including fraud, conspiracy and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
The two members of the public also appeared. All four made no plea and were granted bail.
Andrew Gauley, 45, from Glasgow, faces multiple charges including fraud, conspiracy, theft and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Amanda Hunter, 37, from Motherwell, is accused of a drugs-related offence.
