Two appear in court over fraud charges

Two people have appeared in court charged with a series of frauds in Cornwall over a three-year period.
Josh Taylor and Trudy Thompson deny joint charges of fraud by false representation in connection with Tywardreath village schemes.
They face charges that as directors of Hunter Grange Investments Ltd they were expected to safeguard people making loans to the company but abused the position to expose them to the risk of losing £450,000.
Another joint charge accuses them of dishonestly making false representations to get a loan. The charge says they claimed Thompson planned to donate £1m of her own assets to support the village scheme but exposed a couple to the risk of losing £12,000.
Thompson, 54, of Henley Fort Bungalows, The Mount, Guildford, Surrey, denies nine fraud charges between 2015 and 2018.
Taylor, 35, of Grayswood, Haslemere, Surrey, denies eight similar charges.
They were bailed by Bodmin Magistrates' Court and will appear before a judge at Truro Crown Court in August.
