Heavy rain has fallen across Sussex causing flooding and disruption to some travel services.

A Met Office weather alert for rain as well as flood warnings are in place, including at Hellingly and Horsebridge on the Cuckmere and Bull Rivers, at Cowfold on the Adur and at Barcombe Mills on the Ouse.

Some Southeastern and Southern services have also been affected.

Flooding has been reported in Littlehampton, Barcombe and Isfield among other places.

Southeastern trains faced delays on Sunday morning between Hastings and Tunbridge Wells due to reports of flooding at Frant Station.

Heavy rain flooded the railway between Billingshurst and Arundel before clearing just after 16:00 GMT.

The Met Office warned buses and trains could see delays while road conditions could be impacted by around 15-20mm of rain on Sunday.

The latest weather warning replaces a yellow one for snow and ice which was in force earlier in the weekend.

Conditions were expected to improve later on Sunday although a yellow weather warning is in place until 09:00 GMT on Monday, the weather service said.

The Met Office urged travellers to check journey conditions in advance and be on alert for localised surface water flooding.
