Man charged after woman found dead in home

A man has been arrested and charged following the death of a woman in North Lanarkshire on Saturday.

Pamela Wilson, 45, was found dead in a home on Blairholm Drive in Bellshill around 07:45.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with her death.

He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court later and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Ch Insp Rebecca Gregson said the force's thoughts were with the victim's family and friends.

She added: "We are aware the death of Pamela Wilson, will be a shock to our local community.

"I would like to confirm an experienced group of detectives is working on this case and a man has been arrested and charged.

"I would also like to reassure everyone that uniformed officers are in the area and anyone with concerns can speak to them."
