A man who threatened a dog walker with a Stanley knife after punching out two of his teeth has been jailed.

Arran Brown, 32, also threatened to kill the victim's dog before he punched his victim in the face during the altercation on Bascraft Way, Godmanchester, on 23 October.

Cambridgeshire Police said Brown, of Stirling Square, Godmanchester, had stolen food worth £75, including five gammon joints, from a Co-op store in Ermine Street.

He pleaded guilty to theft, actual bodily harm, possession of cannabis and possession of a knife in public at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday. He was sentenced to two years and one month in jail.

Brown also admitted driving whilst disqualified and dangerous driving in relation to an incident in Cambridge on 12 June 2023.

He drove at speeds of more than 60mph in 20mph zones in his attempt to evade police, the force said.

He was handed an additional disqualification from driving for four years and nine months.

Det Con Kieran Wickens said: "Brown clearly has no regard for the law, and his anti-social, violent and dangerous actions will not be tolerated.

"This sentence reflects how seriously police, and the courts, take this type of behaviour."
