The Alderney routes are currently serviced by two Dornier aircraft, but one was being serviced when the other had an issue

Flights to Alderney have resumed after repairs were carried out to one of the planes servicing the island.

States-owned airline Aurigny said a Dornier plane experienced "technical difficulties" on Tuesday and had to be taken in for repairs.

The airline said it worked with ferry companies to provide alternative travel during the disruption.

Aurigny apologised and thanked customers for their "understanding and patience".

Aurigny has a fleet of five larger ATR planes, but these cannot land in Alderney because of its smaller runway.

The airline said its other Dornier plane, which can land in Alderney, was undergoing annual maintenance and engineers "worked hard to get [the plane] safely back into service for our community".
