Kiena Dawes: 'I'm just trapped and confused'
A young mother who took her own life after being assaulted and domestically abused by her partner spoke to police two weeks before she died.
Kiena Dawes, 23, said she felt "trapped and confused" after being attacked by Ryan Wellings on 11 July 2022.
Wellings, 30, was found not guilty of manslaughter but was convicted of assault and coercive and controlling behaviour between January 2020 and July 2022 after a trial at Preston Crown Court.
Ms Dawes, of Fleetwood, Lancashire, left her young daughter with a friend before taking her own life on 22 July 2022.
