Man hit by bin lorry taken to hospital

A man has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a bin lorry, in Birmingham.
It happened at the junction of Aldridge Road and Holford Drive, Perry Barr, at about 07:30 BST, West Midlands Police.
The pedestrian, who is in his 40s, was later taken to hospital and officers also spoke to the lorry driver at the scene, the force said.
Birmingham City Council confirmed one of its bin lorries had been involved and it was working with the police as the incident is investigated.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said the man's injuries were "not believed to be serious".
