Woman dies after being found unconscious in lake

A woman has died after being found unconscious in a lake in a Leeds park.

Emergency services were called to Waterloo Lake at Roundhay Park at about 18:10 GMT on Sunday following reports of concern for the woman's safety.

West Yorkshire Police said officers and ambulance crews had attended the scene, but the woman was confirmed dead a short time later.

Her death was not being treated as suspicious and inquiries were continuing to establish what had happened, a force spokesperson said.
