Graffiti will be staying on the old Dudbridge Station wall because it was not deemed to be offensive, according to local councillors in this piece by Gloucestershire Live. The group said it had been appealing to the county council to clean-up this part of the heritage site for months.

Tributes have been paid to Robert Shopland, who was a popular figure in Porlock. The former milkman also started the Porlock Pantomime Society and played the organ in local churches, according to the West Somerset Free Press.

And Bristol 24/7 has named MP Carla Denyer its 'Person of the Year'. She was elected in July as the city's first Green MP and is co-leader of the party.

What to watch on social media

There could be CCTV cameras installed on the Bristol and Bath Railway Path according to South Gloucestershire Council. The authority is making the proposal as part of prospective plans to try and make the route safer and more attractive.

A post in the Taunton Matters Facebook group says a Whatsapp group has been set-up for pet sitters and walkers in Somerset. The aim is to help tackle the loneliness some experience doing the job and to warn of hazards on certain routes.

And "for the first time in quite a few years", the bells at St James Church in Trowbridge are going to ring in the new year. This post in the 'Spotted in Trowbridge' group explains it is now possible due to more people taking up bell ringing as a hobby.
