Man charged over Belfast cannabis factory

A 31-year-old man has been charged in connection with the discovery of a cannabis factory in north Belfast last year.

It was found in June 2024 at a commercial warehouse on the Limestone Road. Police now say the estimated street value of the plants was more than £1.5m.

The accused is charged with cultivating cannabis, conspiracy to cultivate cannabis, conspiracy to supply a Class B controlled drug and intimidation of a witness.

He was due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Police said that two men, a 32-year old who was arrested in County Down last year and a 25-year-old man arrested in London last year, are both currently on remand in relation to the investigation.
