Wales made me who I am today, says Oscar winner
An Oscar-winning cinematographer has described how growing up in Wales played a vital role in shaping his work.
"Something about the essence of Wales or everything that place gave me fed into how I respond to the world as a cinematographer," said Lol Crawley, who won the award for his work on the film The Brutalist.
He was speaking to pupils at his former school Ysgol Llanfyllin, Powys, in an assembly on Monday.
Asked by a pupil who the first person was after he won his Oscar, Mr Crawley said it was his mum.
