King Charles visits community food bank in Alloa

King Charles was welcomed by refugees and nursery pupils as he visited a food bank and community centre in Alloa, Clackmannanshire.

Wearing a kilt, he visited The Gate - a community resource which provides support to people facing homelessness and food insecurity.

He was greeted by crowds waving flags outside of the centre, while protesters gathered in an area cordoned off from the event.

He met trustees and volunteers, admired the array of cakes on offer at the community cafe and toured the food bank on the premises.

The Gate provides around 75,000 meals per year to communities and supports four food bank larders in the region.
